Software products are available on 12-month subscription, or as a perpetual license. Both subscriptions and perpetual licenses vary in price based on the number of software add-ons desired on the license.
You have 12-month access to the software, support, and all version releases, major or minor.
You become the owner of the version of the software purchased. After the first year, there is an annual support fee to continue to receive support and minor version releases.
For most products we offer monthly or weekly rentals, and these include support and minor version releases. Note that the rental options include all the available software add-ons.
We offer HASP dongles and softlocks.
For vessel based operations QPS strongly advices to make use of HASP dongles.
Instant portability. If someone across the world needs to use your license, all that is required is a deactivation and then a reactivation wherever that person is. Also with the softlock there is no worry about the dongle being lost or damaged, nor is there a need to physically secure them. Lastly, QPS can send new licenses or license modifications instantly via email. There is no longer a need to mail dongles.
Only for the license activation and deactivation, otherwise you can continue to use a softlock license for up to 90 days. If at any time you regain internet connectivity, that 90-day counter will "reset".
For vessel based operations QPS strongly advices to make use of HASP dongles. For example, when the license moves around often, from project to project, and is used in busy survey labs with several people that all need to share usage the license, it may be easier to maintain a dongle because there is always visibility about which machine has the license activated. Under this same scenario but the license does not move around at all, then a server-based license might be best. For all other scenarios, a softlock license is best.
